Submitting Your Story


WHAT TO SEND

1. A digital photo of yourself (others in photo okay).
2. Your title and name of employer (if employed).
3. A link to any blogs, websites or social media sites (Facebook, etc.) you have.
4. Your original hometown.
5. Your age range (ie: 20s, 30s, 40s, 50s, 60s, etc.)
6. 2-3 paragraphs about you and your Roanoke story.

FAQs

1. What if I don’t have an interesting story?

Everyone’s story is important and we want to hear your story. Tell us what you love about the area, how you came to be here, anecdotes, etc.

2. Do you have to be invited to submit a story?

NO! We want everyone to submit a story but are inviting people to submit their story and help get the word out.

3. Can I link to your website from my own?

Absolutely.

4. Will my submission be edited?

Not always but we may edit your submission for grammar, punctuation, spelling or to remove content we deem objectionable. Editorial decisions are subjective and final but we strive to respect the integrity of your submission as much as possible.

5. Do I have to live in Roanoke to submit a story?

No. The only stipulations are that you work, play or live in the Roanoke Valley.
